The Ferrari 375, along with the Maserati 250F, were the first Scalextric cars to be released in 1957. In celebration of the remarkable Scalextric heritage, both special cars have been faithfully reproduced; each features a unique tinplate body to represent the original production methods of the 1950s. Dorino Serafini, born in Italy in 1909, began his career racing motorcycles, but later moved to four wheels.. He participated in just one World Championship Grand Prix in Italy, in a shared drive with Alberto Ascari in the Ferrari 375 F1 in September 1950.

Serafini drove the number 6 Ferrari 340 F1, an early incarnation of the 375 F1, at Barcelona, Spain, in October 1950.
