Going into the 1967 French Grand Prix on the Le Mans-Bugatti circuit, Graham Hill was looking to capitalise on his pole position from qualifyingalongside the cars of Jack Brabham and Dan Gurney. Alas, after 14 laps of the shorter Le Mans circuit Hill retired the car with crown wheel and pinion failure.
